All dogs that come to the rescue receive all updated vaccinations. Every dog is spayed/neutered. Every dog is tested for heartworms, if positive they are treated for them and all dogs are on preventative meds monthly. Every dog (if old enough) is on preventative for flea and ticks. Every dog is dewormed (puppies are up to date on deworming regimen at their age but may require additional treatment). These services are included in the adoption for no added fees. No future medication or medical expenses are covered by the rescue after adoption.

Pickup or Transport

Pickup or Transport

If adopter is local to rescue, the dog may be picked up at the rescue or an agreed upon meeting place (some dogs are in foster homes).

If adopter is not local, the rescue will do all it can to get transport at low to no cost for the adopter and will help get the dog to the transport to go forever home. Adopter needs to understand that transport fees (on the east coast) may add $200 or more to the adoption costs depending on adopter location if we are not able to find an alternative transport option.

Please consider Fostering.....

About Fostering with our Rescue Organization!

    Dog Food

    Vetting and Medical

    Shelter and Love

At Changing Leashes Rescue & Rehab, we work with our fosters to provide supplies necessary for them to care for our doggies while they are taking care of them. We do provide dog food for our fosters unless the foster lets us know that they would like to provide the food themselves - some do and some prefer we provide - either way works for us.

    Shelter and Love

    Vetting and Medical

    Shelter and Love

This is the part that we ask our fosters to provide for the dog(s) they are fostering for us. We ask that you spend time with the dogs, help train the dogs including crate training, and just love our babies while they are with you.

    Vetting and Medical

    Vetting and Medical

    Vetting and Medical

Changing Leashes Rescue will provide needed vetting and medical care for the dogs you are fostering for us. Sometimes this requires a vet appointment. We will set it up and if you are able to, we ask you take them to the appointment but if not we ask that you make the dog available for a volunteer to transport the dog on behalf of the rescue. All medical care must be approved by the rescue.
